چکیده

Omental adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity, nucleic acid content and triglyceride fatty acid composition were estimated on 5 goats in late pregnancy and early lactation. These data were compared with animal production parameters, plasma metabolite contents and milk triglyceride fatty acid composition. Adipose tissue LPL activity and oleic acid content decreased whereas nucleic and stearic acid contents increased from pregnancy to lactation. Inter-goat variations were large for most parameters and emphasized a close relationship between decrease of LPL activity and decrease of omentum weight, measured on a DNA basis during that period. These decreases also correlated with parameter variations expressing the mobilization of goat body stores after parturition. Adipose tissue LPL activity of individual goats was very small in early lactation.

Fat cell metabolism in different regions in women. Effect of menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and lactation.

Adipose tissue lipolysis and lipoprotein lipase (LPL) activity were studied in biopsies from the femoral and abdominal depots in healthy women during early or late menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and the lactation period. When the differences in cell size were taken into account, basal lipolysis was similar in both regions in nonpregnant women. During lactation, however, lipolysis was significantly...

Interrelationships of serum androgens, omental adipose tissue metabolism, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in obese premenopausal women.

BACKGROUND The concept that androgens regulate multiple aspects of adipose tissue metabolism in women is based on studies of women with pathological androgen excess and in vitro studies generally using supraphysiological androgen concentrations. We investigated whether in women with normal-range serum testosterone, relationships exist between serum androgens and expression of proinflammatory (t...

Lipoprotein Lipase, Tissue Expression and Effects on Genes Related to Fatty Acid Synthesis in Goat Mammary Epithelial Cells

Lipoprotein lipase (LPL) serves as a central factor in hydrolysis of triacylglycerol and uptake of free fatty acids from the plasma. However, there are limited data concerning the action of LPL on the regulation of milk fat synthesis in goat mammary gland. In this investigation, we describe the cloning and sequencing of the LPL gene from Xinong Saanen dairy goat mammary gland, along with a stud...

Impact of walking on adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase activity and expression in pre- and postmenopausal women.

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to examine regional variation in adipose tissue lipoprotein lipase (AT-LPL) activity and expression in pre-and postmenopausal women, before and after training, once differences in chronological age or obesity degree are taken into account. METHODS Sixteen late pre- and 14 early postmenopausal (49 +/- 2 vs. 52 +/- 2 years; p < 0.001) moderately obese women (...
